Milan, May 6 2022 – With a resolution, which will then have to be examined by the municipal council, the council approved some updates to the service plan relating to the urbanization works envisaged as part of the recovery plan for the areas between via Gallarate and Cefalù and the transformation of the property in via Grosio 9, in the Gallaratese area. In essence, it is a question of realigning the Service Plan with the latest updates made to the definitive projects of the works so as to be able to proceed with the stipulation of the implementation agreement of the Plan which will start the process of actual implementation of the interventions.

The recovery plan, approved by the council in 2015, insists along the axis of viale De Gasperi-via Rizzo-via Gallarate, the subject of environmental redevelopment interventions, functional reorganization and creation of services. Above all, new residences are envisaged, with the possibility of establishing tertiary functions, neighborhood businesses, private services, and in parallel the construction of a nursery (subject to demolition of the existing structure abandoned for over 20 years) at the passage from Viale De Gasperi in via Rizzo, a new public garden along via Rizzo and Gallarate and the rationalization of the mobility system, with the partial narrowing of viale De Gasperi, a new axis entering from via Rizzo and the widening of the access road from via Gallarate.

In addition to the updated review of the interventions, the investigative process of recent years has led to the provision of some additional works, including the insertion of a public pedestrian passage connecting with Via Uruguay along the edge of the future kindergarten and the Carlo professional institute Porta, the environmental green arrangement of two triangular-shaped areas on the sides of the car park in front of the Major Cemetery, the reorganization of the parking spaces along the new road axis adjacent to the building in Via Grosio and the creation of a ring complete with cycle path around the Gallarate-Rizzo roundabout, including the identification of small portions of new green parterres at its junction.

Once the Agreement implementing the Plan has been signed in the coming months, it will be possible to proceed with the process of starting the works, expected during the next year.
