Reinventing Cities. The finalist projects of the third edition
Milan, 5 December 2022 – The third edition of Reinventing Cities is nearing its conclusion, the international call promoted by the Municipality of Milan together with the C40–Cities Climate Leadership Group network, which represents almost one hundred international cities committed to combating climate change.
Having completed the first phase, the final part of Reinventing Cities now begins which has, as always, the objective of transforming the sites put up for tender into examples of sustainability and resilience through the presentation of projects which will end with the transfer of a real right to winning subjects.
There are six sites protagonists in the third edition: Abbiategrasso, Bovisasca, Certosa, Martesana, Pitagora, Zama-Salomone (four owned by the Municipality of Milan, one in partnership with MM Spa which has made an area available in co-ownership with the Municipality of Milan, one in partnership with Aler Milano which provided an area on which it exercises a surface right).
At the end of the first phase, all the proposed sites received expressions of interest: the judging commissions examined the projects received and communicated those that entered the final phase of Reinventing Cities.
The finalist teams will be asked to indicate a detailed program of the different project phases, paying attention to the economic and construction phases.
“Reinventing Cities confirms itself as an important tool for redeveloping the proposed sites through particular environmental sensitivity – declares Pierfrancesco Maran, councilor for Housing on the Neighborhood Plan -. Thanks to these projects, new social housing will be created, at controlled prices, through resilient and environmentally friendly solutions".
