React-Eu. Green and digital transition, economic and social recovery, the list of projects earmarked for European funds is ready

The program of interventions to be carried out by 2023 for 82 million euros has been launched

Milan, August 24 2021 – The largest portion – 32,4 million euros – is intended for the purchase of ecological buses, with the aim – already foreseen – of entirely renewing the fleet of surface public transport in the coming years; approximately 16 and a half million are allocated to the increase in public green areas, the arrangement of squares and public spaces, the creation of cycle and pedestrian paths; 7,8 million euros for the redevelopment of schools. And then 2 million for the installation of photovoltaic systems in public buildings (looking at the goal of Carbon neutrality in 2050), another 2 to finance advanced remote assistance systems for the elderly and 2,5 to support the creation and strengthening of micro , small and medium-sized enterprises that operate in neighborhoods in the field of social innovation.

These are some of the projects, for a total amount of approximately 82 million euros (75 which belong to the metropolitan city of Milan), which the municipal administration has identified and decided to propose to the European Union as recipients of funding from the React program. Eu. The list integrates that of the projects already financed with the National Operational Program Metropolitan Cities (PON Metro).

The resources arriving from the React-Eu program will have to be used for works that will be completed by 31 December 2023, therefore intervention axes have been chosen with projects already ready or at an advanced stage. These are interventions which, as requested by the European Union, aim to promote the green and digital transition of society and contribute to overcoming the negative effects of the health crisis.

In fact, in the intentions of the municipal administration, of the 75 million euros due to the metropolitan area, 68 million will be allocated to "Green, digital and resilient recovery" actions and around 7 to "Social, economic and employment recovery". Another 7 million concern "Technical assistance and administration strengthening actions".
