“Make the heart of Milan beat”. The fundraiser of the "In campo con il cuore" association begins to donate and place ten life-saving defibrillators in the Milan area
Milan, 28 December 2020 – The presidency of the municipal council is alongside the association In campo con il cuore, which has been committed since 2014 to promoting the culture of first aid and the diffusion of the defibrillator in the territory as a life-saving tool.
The social campaign "MAKE THE HEART OF MILAN BEAT" is underway to raise funds. Thanks to the Nazionale Artisti TV and the availability of the DJ and TV presenter RINGO, who has always been very sensitive to social initiatives, a video clip was created which will be distributed on the main social networks with the aim of raising public awareness on the importance of cardio protection and to collect useful resources to donate and place 10 defibrillators in the city area.
“A laudable initiative that we have been supporting for years now – comments the President of the City Council Lamberto Bertolé -. The ongoing health emergency involves all of us on the front of combating the spread of the virus, at the same time we must not lose sight of important awareness and prevention projects such as the one carried out by the association in Campo con il cuore. We all know how important first aid is and how decisive a defibrillator can be in saving a life."
Unfortunately, in Italy there are over 60.000 deaths due to cardiac arrest and only 10.000 in Lombardy. Rapid intervention with cardiac massage and the use of a defibrillator within the first 5 minutes of arrest could help save a person in difficulty.
To date, 30 defibrillators have already been donated and placed in town halls, public offices, parks, the Sforzesco Castle, the Palazzo Reale Museum and in various schools, proving to be fundamental in 3 cases of cardiac arrest in passers-by.
“We are all shocked by the Covid emergency that has hit our city and our region declares Gianfranco Fasan President of the Association declares - today we must look forward by placing trust in medicine but we absolutely cannot forget all the other pathologies including cardio vascular diseases which are one of the leading causes of death in Italy. Prevention and knowledge are fundamental and we have always been committed to spreading the practice of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the use of the defibrillator, a true life-saving tool. In this difficult moment every small gesture and small donation is essential to continue in this mission of ours."
