Milan, 1 February 2021 – Understand how epidemics spread, know the working mechanisms of vaccines to combat 'fake news'. This is the objective of "Contagio", the multidisciplinary scientific congress promoted in collaboration with the Presidency of the City Council, which intends to respond to a need for information and scientific dissemination, analyzing the facts in the light of virology, immunology and Medical clinic.

The congress will be divided into two days of live streaming debate, Tuesday 2 and Wednesday 3 February, starting at 17pm, visible to all thanks to the broadcast on the page Web TV Radio 'In Comune' of the Municipality of Milan.

The two-day event will be hosted by Ginevra Trinchieri, associate astronomer of the National Institute of Astrophysics at the Brera Astronomical Observatory in Milan, and the science communicator Alessandro Cecchi Paone.
Among the speakers, just to name a few, Massimo Galli, director of Infectious Diseases of the Luigi Sacco hospital, Fabrizio Pregliasco, medical director of the IRCCS Galeazzi Orthopedic Institute of Milan, Giorgia Sironi of the National Institute of Astrophysics, Mara Biasin of the L. Sacco Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences, and Annalisa Malara, anesthetist at the Codogno hospital who was the first to discover the presence of Covid-19 in Italy.
The vice president of the City Council, Beatrice Uguccioni, will open the proceedings of the congress by speaking tomorrow at 17 pm and will also bring institutional greetings to the second day of work, at the same time.

The project was born from an idea by architect Natasha Calandrino Van Kleef. Choosing Milan to host the congress means recognizing the excellence of the healthcare and research sectors operating in this city. The objective is to clarify a topic that is now widely spread and debated, in its lesser-known aspects, rationalizing the large amount of news received by citizens and offering cognitive tools based on the scientific method and its rigorous application, in spite of bad information and fake news'.
