Lambro Bridge. The safety measures for the building in via Ucelli di Nemi have begun

Milan, June 21 2019 – Work has started on cleaning and making the public building in via Ucelli di Nemi in the Ponte Lambro area safe.

After the operation launched at Palasharp to clean up the area and restore the delimitation structures of the external perimeter and after the various activities implemented in via Sacile and viale Puglie, in the first case with the installation of fences to limit access at the sports center and in the second with the local police force in collaboration with the Guardia di Finanza in the flea market, the Administration has started an intervention involving several departments in a place that will be subject to redevelopment by the Municipality.

For about two weeks AMSA and the Urban Rapid Intervention Unit have been carrying out interventions in the area: the first has cleaned the external part and the ground floor of accumulated waste, disposing of over 29 tonnes; while at the same time the NUIR replaced all the old fencing with the installation of new metal mesh panels.

The external areas of the construction site that still remained have also been eliminated and the Public Works sector has started work to close the open spaces between the pillars on the ground and mezzanine floors, while work on the connection to the public sewer system will begin shortly of existing drains which today cause bad odors due to waste water stagnation.

The objective is to again prevent access to unauthorized people inside the structure, keeping the area safe, while also eliminating all the external structures that could have been used as bivouacs, contributing to the degradation of the area.
