PON Metro. Just a few more days to participate in civic crowdfunding to reinvent spaces and neighborhoods

Tajani: “We invite those who have not yet done so to send us a project to improve the liveability and services of the neighborhood after the Covid crisis”. There are over 80 Milanese non-profit organizations that have followed the online courses to learn how to create a successful fundraising campaign

Milan, July 23 2020 - Just a few more days to present your idea to reinvent the less central neighborhoods of the city with social projects and cultural actions. The deadline to participate in Civic Crowdfunding will expire on Friday 31 July, the initiative promoted by the Municipality of Milan to encourage the social and economic development of the city starting from the bottom and personally involving citizens, in redesigning spaces and services of their neighborhood after the long months of confinement.

“There are over 80 Milanese non-profit organizations that have followed the online courses, offered free of charge by the Municipality of Milan, to learn how to create a successful crowdfunding campaign and best prepare their candidacy for the tender – explains the Councilor for Policies for work, productive activities and commerce Cristina Tajani –. It is a sign of the willingness of social enterprises and associations to get involved with ideas and projects useful for the restart of the city and its neighborhoods. Crowdfunding is an extraordinary tool for many non-profit organizations that will be able to transform an idea into a concrete and economically sustainable social project, and for citizens who will be able to support their favorite projects through microdonations of even a few euros. An alliance that becomes even more important in this difficult situation, which is why I invite those who have not yet done so to send us a project to improve liveability and services in the neighborhoods after the Covid crisis".

The new edition of Civic Crowdfunding, launched last May, is an initiative of the Department of Labor Policies, Productive Activities and Commerce in collaboration with two of the major Italian companies active in this area: Produzioni dal lavoro and Ginger crowdfunding. The project, entirely financed with PON Metro Milano funds 2014-2020, has a budget of 550 thousand euros.

The projects that raise 40% of the overall budget through the crowdfunding platform will obtain a non-repayable contribution from the Municipality of Milan for the remaining 60%, up to a maximum amount of 60 thousand euros for each individual project.

Non-profit organizations and third sector entities based in Milan (social enterprises, associations, social cooperatives, voluntary organizations and foundations) can participate in the call.
