Local police. Evicted, he leaves a bearded dragon and a corn snake inside his house

27-year-old reported for animal cruelty

Milan, 29 December 2019 – Evicted, he returned the keys to the house but left a Bearded Dragon and a Corn Snake inside, in two terrariums.
Having found the two reptiles, the owner of the apartment in the San Siro area tried in vain to contact the former tenant, then called the Animal Protection Unit of the Local Police who seized the two specimens.

The Dragon and the Snake were preserved in two cases, one on top of the other, in precarious hygienic and sanitary conditions. The light inside the house was poor, coming only from a window with the shutters wide open. Inside the two terrariums the thermometer read 20 degrees, a temperature considered too low for the normal survival of the two reptiles.
Both cases were dirty, without food or water, without an independent heating source such as infrared lamps or heating mats.

And in fact the Corn Snake was found in hypothermic and lethargic conditions. The situation of the Bearded Dragon is even more precarious, as it responded to the stimuli only after several attempts.

Local police officers seized the two specimens and handed them over to a judicial custodian, i.e. the owner of a reptile house who can currently take care of them. The owner of the two animals, a 27-year-old Italian, was reported for having mistreated and abandoned the two reptiles.
