More than 950 thousand articles have been recovered by the Anti-abusive Unit since the beginning of the year
Milan, August 23 2020 – Hundreds of perfumes bearing the brands of the most well-known fashion brands, for a total value of over 30 thousand euros, were seized by the Anti-illegality Unit of the local police in Milan on 13 August, following various operations conducted in the city's markets.
Thanks to the activity carried out, the agents managed to search a property in the Bruzzano area where, in addition to the counterfeit perfumes positioned on shelves of furniture used as display counters for customers who could access as in any commercial activity, they were Also found were items of clothing and sunglasses, all counterfeit, with a market value of 10 thousand euros. The man who managed the space, an Egyptian national with a regular residence permit, was reported.
Since the beginning of the year, over 950 thousand items have been seized, administratively or criminally, by the Anti-illegal Unit: among these, in addition to the 830 thousand non-compliant plastic bags removed from the market in two operations in February and July, there are adapters (46 thousand pieces ), costume jewelery (31 thousand pieces), mobile phone accessories (19 thousand pieces), clothing items and accessories (13 thousand pieces).
The officers of the Unit were also engaged during the lockdown in constant surveillance of the area, aimed at ensuring compliance with the ordinances, which resulted in 76 complaints, 16 accompaniments for identification, 2 arrests, in addition to the issuing of 640 reports of dispute, the verification of 376 complaints, 15 commercial inspections, 8 searches of premises.
