Local police. Over 1.200 counterfeit items seized

Checks in two shops, illegally branded shoes on sale  
 
Milan, August 17 2021 – As part of the national anti-counterfeiting program, promoted by ANCI and which is involving the main metropolitan cities of Italy in territorial activities to combat counterfeiting and the trade of products dangerous for consumers, staff of the Anti-counterfeiting Operational Group (GOAC) of the local police of Milan, during a search, proceeded with the seizure of 1.258 counterfeit clothing items, in particular footwear of various kinds.

The operation involved two commercial businesses in the Paolo Sarpi district. At the end of the search of the two shops, the local police officers of Milan seized numerous counterfeit shoes which illicitly reproduced models and brands of well-known clothing companies such as Valentino, Nike and Golden Goose.

The shoes were offered for sale at a list price of 30 euros per pair, for a total commercial value of the seized goods of over 37.000 euros. The two owners of the shops, PX aged 59 and LS aged 52, both of Chinese origin, were investigated for the crimes of counterfeiting and receiving stolen goods.

"Safeguarding traders who work honestly, keeping their businesses open even in the month of August, is a priority for the local police – comments the deputy mayor and councilor for safety Anna Scavuzzo -. The operations carried out by the anti-illegal activity unit are in fact created to protect both the consumer is those who carry out their business following laws and regulations, as well as the companies that make the products following controlled and guaranteed quality standards".
