Local police. 46 thousand dangerous adapters seized by the Anti-abusive Unit

Milan, July 11 2020 - A joint operation by the Anti-illegal Unit of the local Police of Milan and the Chamber of Commerce, aimed at withdrawing dangerous products from the market, ended with the criminal seizure of 46 thousand non-compliant adapters and with the complaint by the Sole Administrator of importing company for the crimes of attempted commercial fraud and placing dangerous products on the market.

The activity started with a search in Milan, in the Certosa area, of a wholesale, retail and online business selling electrical materials, PC accessories, printers, photocopiers, electronic and IT equipment. 

Following a conformity check of a specific electrical product on sale, commissioned by the Chamber of Commerce and carried out by IMQ (Italian Quality Mark Institute), the product's non-compliance with the essential requirements established by the European Construction Directive was highlighted. low voltage electrical equipment in a workmanlike manner.

The research activity was then extended to the Municipality of Mezzago, in the province of Monza and Brianza, in the legal and operational headquarters of the importer, where the 46 thousand adapters considered dangerous were found and seized, as they lacked technical measures aimed at ensure that "people and pets are adequately protected from the danger of physical injury or other damage that may result from direct or indirect contact".
