Local police. 100 kg of fireworks stored without respecting safety standards seized
The three managers were also reported for selling explosive materials to minors
Milan, 30 December 2019 – The anti-illegal activity unit of the local police, during an inspection of a commercial establishment in Viale Monza which took place on 27 December, seized 100 kg of fireworks stored inside the premises without observing the safety regulations and reported the three managers.
The confiscated material, consisting of 41 different types of pyrotechnic products for a total of over two thousand items, was positioned in correspondence with the electrical system and computer cables. Other fireworks were displayed among synthetic fiber clothing, plastic material, boxes and lighters. The premises also lacked an adequate fire prevention system: the fire extinguishers, located in difficult to access points, had last been serviced in 2016 and the emergency exit was blocked.
During the check, the officers also witnessed the sale of several pyrotechnic articles to a minor under 15 years of age.
For this reason the three managers of the commercial activity, of Chinese origin, were investigated for having kept explosive materials inside the shop without observing the safety regulations established to protect the safety of people and the preservation of goods against risks of fire and for selling fireworks to minors.
