Milan, November 28 2022 – As part of an activity to combat illegal commercial activity, last November 25, the agents of the Anti-counterfeiting Operational Group (GOAC) of the local police seized approximately 16.000 counterfeit devices for telephones, smartphones and tablets and more than 6 thousand dangerous electrical products as they do not comply with European regulations. The searches were carried out inside some commercial activities located between Milan and Monza. The total value of the seized goods is approximately 200.000 euros.

In particular, among the electrical items seized there were entire pallets full of night lights and universal adapters which, once connected to the electrical socket, presented a great risk of electrocution for the user as the internal parts were not adequately and safely insulated. On the contrary, they were directly accessible from the outside with the possibility of contact with parts of the human body.

The search, which lasted for several days, took place in two separate commercial activities, including a large European distributor based in Monza and ended with the complaint of two Chinese citizens for having placed counterfeit and potentially dangerous products on the market. consumer health.

The GOAC operates within the national program of territorial anti-counterfeiting actions promoted since 2010 by ANCI with the Ministry of Economic Development and subsequently renewed. In fact, local municipalities and police have a leading role in the fight against counterfeiting for the safety of citizens and the protection of the production chain which operates legally.
