Local police. 17 thousand "FFP2" and "surgical" masks seized
Milan, January 20 2022 – In recent days the Public Transport Protection Unit of the local police seized over 17 thousand "FFP2" and "surgical" type masks following an inspection in a shop and warehouse in via Niccolini, managed by a person of Chinese nationality who is been investigated.
The seizure is of a criminal nature for fraud on the market regarding 16.600 "FFP2" masks, of an administrative nature for 830 "surgical" masks intended for use by children with a non-compliant CE mark and therefore without the manufacturing characteristics that identify them as PPE
In the previous days, the staff of the Public Transport Protection Unit were busy checking compliance with the anti-Covid regulations on the surface line 56 and at the Loreto metro stop. Here the patrol had noticed that non-compliant masks were displayed inside a shop and had proceeded with the administrative seizure of 121 "FFP2" masks with irregular CE marking, collecting the useful elements to trace the retailer in via Niccolini.
