Local police. He beats his pregnant partner in the street, 32-year-old arrested red-handed

The woman had attempted suicide on the subway a few days earlier

Milan, 28 December 2019 – The Local Police of Milan red-handedly arrested M.T., a 17-year-old Moroccan who was beating up his pregnant 32-year-old partner in the street, in the presence of a three-year-old child. The accusation is that of mistreatment in the family aggravated by having committed the crime against a pregnant woman and in the presence of a minor.

In the late afternoon of last December 17, two officers of the Local Police of the zone 7 command, while they were surveying a road accident in the Piazza Selinunte area, were called by a motorist who had seen, not far away, a man who was beating a woman .

The officers immediately intervened and as they approached the couple they had time to notice the man kicking the woman, who was curled up, several times, hitting her in the hip. At that moment, another woman, the man's mother, and a child of about three years old were also present.

Stopped by the officers, the 32-year-old undocumented man justified himself by saying that she had hit him first and that "he was just putting his hands on his wife". Taken to the arrest and detention office of the Local Police for identification, it was discovered that the man of Moroccan origin had several criminal records.

The young woman was instead accompanied to the offices of the Women and Minors Protection Unit, coordinated by the chief commissioner Luca Zenobio. She told the officers that, while saying she did not want to file a complaint, she told them that it was not the first time she had been beaten by her partner. The first episodes date back to the beginning of their relationship, in March 2017, while the last episode, documented thanks to the intervention of the police, was last October, when she was hospitalized at Mangiagalli for a hematoma in the eye and other bruises after a fight at home.

A few days before December 17, the young woman had also attempted suicide on the subway but had been saved by an ATM employee who had picked her up and brought her back to the platform.

Now, after the arrest was validated, the 32-year-old is in prison in San Vittore awaiting trial.
