Local police. Over 50 interventions by the diving unit at the Idroscalo

Milan, September 13 2020 – There were over fifty interventions by the diving unit of the local police at the Idroscalo in Milan during the summer season. 
 
In particular, 4 interventions were carried out with first aid assistance for injured people, 8 rescues of canoeists in difficulty due to the capsizing of their boats, 3 assistance to sailors due to strong winds, one rescue in the water of a dog that was risking drowning, the safety of a pier and 35 interventions to ban children from swimming and diving from the bridges that connect the island. 
 
Also for the 2020 summer season, which this year brought a greater number of visitors, the diving unit operated at the basin, monitoring activities such as fishing and navigation, providing help in case of injuries, providing assistance during sports competitions, researching and rescuing people, as happened at the beginning of July in the dog park area.  
 
The service began on Saturday 13 June and ended on Sunday 6 September with the daily presence of a crew, with the exception of holidays, when there were two active crews.
