Local police. Over 32 thousand items and 11 'cargo bikes' seized in the Darsena
High fines of 22.880 euros
Milan, January 30 2020 – Over 32 thousand articles were seized by the anti-illegal activity unit of the local police during a control activity in the Navigli area.
Eleven commercial operators were identified and fined for a total of 22.880 euros, from which the same number of three-wheeled bicycles fraudulently transformed from means of transport to fixed kiosks were seized, in violation of commercial laws and the Highway Code.
Furthermore, during the observation period, from 10am to 15.30pm, between Alzaia Naviglio Grande, Ripa di Porta Ticinese, Viale Gorizia and Piazza XXIV Maggio, the agents were able to verify that none of the commercial operators moved from the initial position, as well as required by current legislation. Itinerant trade must in fact be carried out with means of transport and parking on the street must be limited to the time strictly necessary for the sale: the operators actually operated in a fixed location, thus creating a situation of a small illegal open market.
The items displayed for sale and seized were of different types: 4.500 clothing items and accessories, 18.917 costume jewellery, 4.700 mobile phone accessories and 3.579 souvenirs.
