Milan, August 29 2019 - In the month of August, the local police carried out ten arrests for possession and illicit trafficking of narcotic substances, during the control activities of the territory carried out by the drug enforcement unit. 

The arrests, in flagrante delicto, were carried out during seven different interventions during this month and led to the seizure of 67,91 grams of methamphetamine, better known as shaboo, 160,82 grams of cocaine, 1,97 grams of marijuana, 2,07 grams of ecstasy, 180,28 grams of hashish and 18 grams of ketamine.

The measures were carried out against seven citizens of Chinese origin, including three minors, a citizen originally from Gambia, an Egyptian citizen and a Moroccan citizen.  

In the first operation, completed on 6 August, two minors were involved who were intercepted in Piazzale Maciachini, the place where they presumably carried out their drug dealing activity, and were followed by the agents to Via Imbonati, where they were searched and found in possession of drugs. Same script on 7 August during the second operation: a Gambian citizen who was dealing in the small park at the intersection of via Demetrio Cretese and via Branda Castiglioni was followed and searched with positive results. Three arrests were made on August 13 against three citizens of Chinese origin, one of whom was a woman, who packaged and sold doses of shaboo and ketamine in an apartment in Via Bruni. On August 14th it was the turn of a Moroccan citizen arrested eight years ago for the same crime. On August 16, an Egyptian citizen was caught by the 'cast irons' while exchanging cocaine for money with several customers. Then, last August 23, a citizen of Chinese origin was arrested in front of a building in Via Cabella, where he was carrying out his drug dealing activity. Finally, on August 28, another minor of Chinese origin was arrested and found in possession of ketamine which he tried to exchange for salt to use for cooking. 

“Even in August - declares the deputy mayor Anna Scavuzzo - the control activity of the territory by the local police continues, which has achieved important results in the battle against drug dealing. We will continue in this direction with ever greater conviction, aware that this is a widespread phenomenon and that it is necessary not to let our guard down."
