Milan, June 28 2019 - Three citizens of Moroccan origin were arrested yesterday evening, shortly after 23pm, for dealing cocaine and hashish in via Elio Vittorini, inside the Vittorini Park in the Ponte Lambro area, an area under observation because it has been reported several times by citizens as " "Piazza di Spaccio" in the open air, from the early hours of the morning until late at night.

After having observed and photographed them, and after having stopped some Italian buyers and seized small doses of narcotic substances from them, the plainclothes officers of the Narcotics Control Unit of the Local Police, coordinated by the Local Police Commander Marco Ciacci, intervened, blocking C. Z., 24 years old homeless, H.M. 40 years old without document and M.M. 27 year old also homeless. The three are accused, jointly, of drug dealing.

At the end of the operation, the officers seized a total of over one hundred grams of hashish and more than five grams of cocaine, a small knife and small denomination banknotes worth almost two hundred euros. The Moroccans only had small quantities of drugs on them, the bulk of the seizure took place near the bench inside the park which served as a base for the drug dealing activities. The system used, and reconstructed through the stakeout and photographic documentation produced by the agents, was in fact designed to allow drug dealers to move easily. Operations Director H.M. who collected near the bench in the green area and passed on to his associates the quantities requested and then sold outside the park, in particular in via Vittorini. Customer requests arrived via WhatsApp on the mobile phone.

The three were handed over to the judicial authority and the seized money will be deposited in an interest-free current account available to the same.

“The action to combat drug dealing in the streets and in green areas – said the deputy mayor and councilor for Security Anna Scavuzzo – requires observations, information and work which is carried out daily by the Nucleus Narcotics Control Unit. We want to give citizens back the full usability of public spaces and the presence of the Local Police in the area is precious. Thanks to the citizens who sent detailed reports, which were useful in starting the investigations and gathering information that allowed the arrest of the three and a significant seizure".
