Local police. Blitz in the cellar in search of a gun, stolen PCs, tablets and phones worth 130 thousand euros found

Cell phones and other electronic devices have already been returned to their rightful owners

Milan, July 27 2019 – On July 23rd, the Local Police recovered a large quantity of goods of furtive origin, for a total value of 130 thousand euros, found hidden in a basement in the Maciachini area.

The investigations arose from an intervention by the Narcotics Enforcement Unit: some elements in the possession of the investigators indicated that a person, already arrested by them for drug dealing, was in possession of an illegally possessed weapon. This person was using a cellar where the weapon was suspected to be hidden. The raid began when the man went down to the basement with a friend.

Once inside, the officers actually found a weapon, a .22 caliber pistol in a cardboard box. But in the same cellar there was also a large quantity of electronic objects and clothes which, after the initial investigations carried out by the Predatory Crimes Unit of the Local Police, were found to be of furtive origin.

A total of 248 pieces were recovered. Among them many products still packaged and with the anti-shoplifting label. The hypothesis is that part of these had been stolen from couriers. In particular, 79 mobile phones, 3 navigators, 43 laptops and 2 desktop computers, 9 tablets and other IT tools were recovered, as well as various items of clothing and accessories from the most renowned brands on the market, and four bicycles.

Three people were investigated for receiving stolen goods, one of them also for illegal possession of a firearm. These are two Egyptian citizens, A.A. and E.S. aged 49 and 40, and E.M. a 46-year-old Algerian who was using the cellar.

The agents of the Predatory Crimes Unit are currently trying to trace the legitimate owners of the stolen goods and have already returned 12 mobile phones, a tablet and a laptop.
