Milan, July 17 2019 – The agents of the Women and Minors Protection Unit of the local police, under the direction of Commander Marco Ciacci, proceeded to arrest the aunt of the three-year-old girl on July 11th, whose parents have already been in prison for mistreatment since the beginning on June.

There are indications of guilt against the woman, A. M., thirty years old, and considering the concrete danger of escape - she had in fact purchased a one-way ticket to Egypt for next July 14th - it was deemed appropriate to proceed with the arrest.

The investigations by the local police began in mid-May, when the hospital where the little girl was hospitalized reported possible mistreatment to the Court of Milan. After the arrest of the parents, stopped shortly before they managed to catch a plane to Egypt, investigations continued because from the beginning a close connection with the woman had emerged, who had also participated in organizing the escape of the parents. two.

The investigations revealed that the girl's aunt had shown evidence of serious physical and psychological abuse against her niece, committed both in the family home and during her hospitalization before the minor was removed from parental rights.

In fact, before that moment, the woman took over from her brother-in-law in caring for the little hospitalized girl. In phone calls with her sister, A.M. he describes several times the actions carried out against his niece: pinching, attempts at suffocation, pulling hair. As well as other types of violence to force the little girl to vomit and speculation about violence against the little girl, such as suffocation or poisoning.

When the officers discovered that the woman had purchased a one-way ticket to Egypt on July 14th, with over 200 kilos of luggage, the arrest was made.

The woman was taken to San Vittore prison and is awaiting trial.
