In four years, the Drug Enforcement Unit has seized 650 kilos of drugs, with a retail value of 4 million euros; 403 people arrested

Milan, August 21 2020 – Two men of Moroccan origin were arrested on 20 August in Via Gola by the Narcotics Unit of the local police for dealing cocaine. In just over four years of activity the Unit has brought 403 subjects to justice, reported another 195 in a state of freedom, seized cash for more than 280 thousand euros and narcotic substances for a total of 650 kilograms, equal to an equivalent retail of almost 4 million euros.

The latest operation that led to the arrest of AEM (21 years old) and JK (42 years old) was carried out together with a canine unit and began with a stakeout in a building in via Gola, a stone's throw from the Naviglio Pavese, to verify a report received at the offices. In the late afternoon of August 20, the officers saw a man who matched the description received leaving the reported apartment and who was therefore stopped. Inside the apartment, where the second reported person was also located, a cellophane wrapper with 43,10 grams of cocaine was found in a washing machine compartment. A precision scale still contaminated with the substance was also found in the kitchen.

From the subsequent personal search, the key to another apartment was found on JK, located in a different street number in Via Gola. Also in this case the search gave a positive result: inside the oven two wrappers were found with 11,36 grams of cocaine, as well as 1,69 grams of crack and a further precision scale, numerous envelopes, transparent film, a pot containing a white pasty substance (these are excipients, such as mannitol or lactose, used to dilute pure cocaine hydrochloride) and numerous packages of pure bicarbonate, a substance used to make crack.

Both apartments, occupied illegally as per checks carried out with ALER, were cleared and paved over.

Another important operation dates back to a few days ago which allowed the Drug Enforcement Unit to seize 15 kilos of hashish, more than 4 thousand euros in cash and to arrest a 47 year old man (ZA), resident in the Piazzale Selinunte area. Thanks to a report received, the officers followed the man who, in the Comasina area, got out of the car he was driving and got into the driver's seat of another car in which he was heading towards the municipality of Cormano.

Stopped by the officers, the man took a wrapper with 41,1 grams of hashish from his jacket pocket. During the search of the car, 30 wrappers of 500 grams each and 5 wrappers of 100 grams each were found, hidden in a cavity between the upholstery and the sheet metal of both rear sides, for a total of 15,5. XNUMX kilograms of the same substance.
