Local police. Insurance and inspection checks begin with "Eagle eyes"
Milan, August 29 2021 - The checks on insurance and vehicle inspections by the local police will start on Monday 30 August on an experimental basis until the end of the year with the help of 'Eagle eyes', the detectors connected to the Civil Motorization database which allow know in real time whether a vehicle has its documentation in order.
Three patrols will carry out the service throughout the city thanks to the detectors installed. They will be connected via radio to the moving patrols: once the lack of insurance or inspection has been ascertained, the car's license plate will be communicated to the moving officers, who will stop the vehicle, check the documents and proceed with the relevant measures.
The lack of insurance involves the administrative seizure of the vehicle (with administrative fine starting from 866 euros), while the lack of inspection causes the suspension of circulation of the vehicle until the latter is carried out (with administrative fine starting from 176 EUR).
Between 2020 and 2021, approximately 4 infringements relating to the insurance obligation and 2.400 regarding the audit were detected.
