Local police. A special service at Malpensa until the end of October

Milan, August 31 2019 – The special service of the local police of Milan in Malpensa, in the arrivals and departures areas of Terminal 1, began at the end of July and will end at the end of October, with the reopening of Linate airport.

Road assistance and control, seven days a week from 6 am to 23 pm, constitute the main activity of the six officers plus a local police officer to support their colleagues from Ferno and Lonate Pozzolo: in the first four weeks there were around 500 parking restrictions.

“Our local police officers in Milan at Malpensa are providing a valuable service – comments Deputy Mayor and Security Councilor Anna Scavuzzo –, even more so in these weeks of heavy air traffic. Their skills and experience are and will certainly be of help to colleagues already operating at the airport and for this I want to thank them for the service they are providing to hundreds of thousands of traveling tourists".

From the checks carried out by the local police in Milan, 4 reports were also initiated, three pieces of luggage and six lost wallets were recovered: one, in particular, belonged to a steward who was returned to the plane's steps while boarding.

Finally, special help was given to two Uruguayan girls who, due to a delay on the flight that had taken them to Milan, had missed their connection to Madrid and, consequently, the one from the Spanish capital to return to Montevideo. The girls, Delfina and Dolores, thanks to the help of the local police in Milan, were able to contact their parents and were then assisted in finding accommodation for that night, which they did not know they were entitled to, and the necessary flights for the following days . Back in Uruguay, they sent the agents a special thank you: “We want to send you a special thanks and tell you that we loved Milan because of the kind of people we met”.
