Social policies. The first edition of the Corvetto Festival starts tomorrow

Over 40 events in the neighborhood promoted by the Municipality and the Corvetto Network

Milan, May 2 2019 – Three days of music, walking, books, social lunches and dinners, photography, street performances, graffiti and dance. This is the first Corvetto Festival promoted by the Municipality of Milan and by the associations and traders of the Corvetto Network and which will be held in the neighborhood from tomorrow, Friday 3 May, to 5 May, hosting more than 40 initiatives and involving all citizens.

We start tomorrow at 9,30 with the guided tour reserved for high schools at the city farm of the Nocetum Center, in the ancient Corte San Giacomo farmhouse owned by the Municipality of Milan, completely renovated by the association and which offers a large green space with games for children, an urban farm with animals and an educational vegetable garden.
In the WeMi space in via Piazzetta 2, starting from 14,30 pm, the inhabitants of the neighborhood will find the photographer Settimio Benedusi who will give life to the "Put your face on" initiative, creating - thanks to a special set set up outdoors - portraits to stick on a wall as parts of a large installation. The initiative will also continue in the following days, during the events organized in the WeMi space.
At 16pm, at the Arci Corvetto in via Oglio 21 it will be time for "Tell me about you", the show created by the day centers for disabled people in via Anfossi, Barabino, Gonzaga and by the residences for the elderly "Casa per Spouses" and "Virgilio Ferrari."

Among the events on Saturday 4 May also the bicycle tour - starting from 11,30 am - in the Vettabbia park and in the fields to discover the agricultural innovation experiences born within the Uia/Open Agri project and - at 14 pm - the “collective bread-making ceremony” with the guidance of master bread-maker Davide Longoni. At 17,30 pm, at the municipal market in Piazza Ferrara 2, the existing collaboration agreements at Corvetto will be presented.

On Sunday 5 May, however, from 9am onwards it will be possible to participate in the creation of a large collective mural which will extend for 100 meters along Via Fabio Massimo to make the access road to the Cassinis park more beautiful and welcoming. The theme will be the landscape of the park, with the Chiaravalle Abbey, but citizens will be able to have fun and add details and elements resulting from their imagination. At 18,30 pm it will be the turn of the "Made in Corvetto show", a show in Piazza Gabriele Rosa in which the rapper Cisky MCK, Jacopo Biffi and Lorenzo D'Erasmo will participate.

There will also be space for moments of meeting and socializing related to food, such as the dinner based on Abruzzo kebabs and Senegalese sauces on Friday at 20,30pm at Cascina Casottello and the aperitif at the “Da Giacomo” kiosk in Piazza Corvetto on Saturday at 19pm .

The students of Itsos Albe Steiner will be the "reporters" of the Festival, going around their neighborhood to film and photograph. The school, founded in 1974, is the last building in the south of Milan before the open countryside that belongs to the ancient Abbey of Chiaravalle. It is an institute with 900 students of cinema, graphics and photography, in which school managers and families have established an intense collaboration, promoting together, for example, a fundraiser a few years ago for study materials and the archiving of what is produced in the school.
