The first globe entitled “Save Milano bella” is a tribute to the city created by the well-known designer Giulio Cappellini and Antonio Facco.

“Thanks to this widespread art project – comments the Councilor for Labor Policies, Productive Activities and Commerce of the Municipality of Milan Cristina Tajani – environment, design and innovation come together, contributing to expanding the actions of the 'Milan Plastic Free' project launched by the Administration in recent months to raise awareness of respect for the planet and make our city the first Italian reality to eliminate the use of single-use plastics. The Administration – continues the councilor – is happy to support all initiatives that can contribute to this work of environmental education. It is through small daily gestures that major climate changes are combated, and this is precisely what many young people of the Thumberg generation are asking of us."

The WePlanet project, exploiting the ability of art and creativity to stimulate a critical conscience in citizens, aims to contribute to bringing the urgency of addressing the sustainable transition to the center of the debate of institutions, operators and individual citizens as well as reiterating what that the individual role in the healing process of the planet is crucial. From this perspective, the 100 large globes made and reproduced with recycled material - a diameter of over 1,30 cm and an overall height of 170 cm - constitute the support entrusted to one hundred artists, designers and creatives, to interpret from a side the topic of pollution and climate change as well as informing the public on the topic of sustainable innovation.

At the end of the installation, the 100 artist globes will be auctioned off by Sotheby's and the proceeds will be donated to the completion and redevelopment of the Segantini Park, in collaboration with the association of the same name,  (completion of the urban green radius, play areas for children, the planting and installation of new trees), and the ForestaMi Fund: the urban forestation project in the city of Milan.
