Neighborhood Plan. Redevelopment of the Ringhiera Theatre. Feasibility project approved

Milan, March 8 2021 – In recent days the Council approved the technical-economic feasibility project for the renovation of the Ringhiera Theater in via Boifava 17, in the Chiesa Rossa district (Town Hall 5). Today the councilors for Culture Filippo Del Corno and for Public Works Marco Granelli organized an inspection of the construction site to take stock of the work in progress.
The project, which starts from a proposal from the Cariplo Foundation, will be brought to the municipal council in the public works program for the 2021 year. The approval of the feasibility allows the municipal administration to activate the procedure to include the works among those financeable by businesses and individuals through Art bonus, the measure to support cultural heritage which, in exchange for donations, generates tax benefits in the form of a tax credit.

"Now we know we can return the Ringhiera Theater to the city, a place of culture and sociality at the center of the life of the Chiesa Rossa district, also involving private individuals and businesses thanks to the Art bonus tool – declare councilors Del Corno and Granelli -. A building, the one in Via Boifava, which needed major interventions and which will once again become a center of fundamental services for the entire Municipality 5. We will continue like this, to restore the future, services and quality of the neighbourhoods".

The Ringhiera Theatre, home to theatrical performances, concerts and conferences, is located in the same complex as the civic center via Boifava. With the work started several months ago, all the asbestos has been removed, demolitions have been carried out and the reinforced concrete structures are being built to make the building solid, rebuild and then reopen the various activities.

Demolition has also taken place in the Theatre, the flooring and the stage will soon be redone and it will be the turn of the systems to be rebuilt. The works will continue until the end of June 2021, the date for the reopening of the part dedicated to services will then be defined.
