Personal. Counters and citizen services, Municipality plan for 582 new hires

Tajani: "The Administration thus surpasses the goal of three thousand new hires since the start of the council, for an increasingly efficient and local municipal machine"

Milan, May 22 2021 – The Municipality invests in the development and expansion of human resources to guarantee more efficient and widespread services. Having approved the employment plan for 582 new hires, the Administration projects beyond the goal of 3 thousand hires since the start of the council. A constant investment, despite the stringent constraints imposed on local authorities, to support turnover and accompany the generational change of staff but also an important job offer to the city and its inhabitants. The employment plan has been shared, in recent weeks, with the trade unions and the RSUs.

“This employment plan also talks about restarting – comments the councilor for Labor Policies and Human Resources Cristina Tajani – and about the Administration's strategies for exiting the pandemic and supporting the weakest categories. 582 new hires, for a total expenditure of 17,5 million euros, which paid extraordinary attention to social and cultural matters precisely to respond to the new needs imposed by the Covid emergency and give oxygen to those sectors most affected and most attentive to the needs of the citizen".

Of the 582 new hires, the largest component is represented by administrative employees, with 250 units, most of which are assigned to the counters and services to the city. The technicians, 115 professionals, follow to support the public works plan and take charge of the projects that will affect the city in the coming years. 84 units of teaching and educational staff are allocated to the school. 47 people are allocated to care and assistance needs, thanks also to the extraordinary funding provided for by the budget law, a significant contingent, and particularly qualifying especially for the attention paid to citizens, especially the most fragile ones. There will also be space for culture with 40 new cultural operators who will have to revitalize this sector particularly marked by the health emergency. With the entry of 37 local police officers, the exhaustion of all the current rankings for this particular category concludes. Finally, there will be 9 IT profiles that will be added to the workforce in the coming months who will have the task of continuing the organisation's digitalisation action.
