Personal. More educators, policemen, engineers as well as employees and workers: a thousand new hires to improve the Municipality's services

Tajani: "We invest thirty million euros in human resources to improve services to citizens and make the municipal machine increasingly faster and more efficient"

Milan, June 16 2019 – Investing in training, safety and technical skills to increase the quality of the services offered. This is the objective of the employment plan approved last Friday by the council, which provides for a thousand new hires that will allow for an increasingly efficient municipal machine that is attentive to the needs of the citizen, thanks to more educators in schools and more vigilance to increase control of city, for a total investment of over thirty million euros by the Administration.

"Thanks to the virtuous work of the Administration, we have managed to make maximum use of the employment opportunities permitted by the current regulatory framework for public administrations, predicting a thousand new hires in 2019". Thus the councilor for Labor Policies, Productive Activities and Human Resources Cristina Tajani, who continues: "Attention to the valorisation of internal staff through vertical progressions is also fundamental in this plan: 87 positions to encourage development and professional growth of the Milanese civil servants. The thousand new positions, between the scrolling of rankings and new competitions, are added to the 1.400 hires already made since the beginning of the mandate, making the Municipality an increasingly protagonist of employment policies in the area". 

A hiring plan also shared by the representatives of the Trade Unions which fully responds to the needs of the Administration and is capable of covering the different organizational needs.

Of the over one thousand nine hires, approximately three hundred will concern administrative employees to streamline the relationship with citizens in all offices, strengthening the front and back office; 98 workers to guarantee the timeliness and quality of maintenance interventions on schools, buildings and public spaces as well as 71 surveyors, 69 architects and engineers to cope with the great urban planning change that the city is experiencing. There are 66 new educators who will implement the staff in order to guarantee the coverage of places for schools, nurseries and nursery schools, which have always stood out for the quality of the service offered to the Milanese. Strong attention also on the security and protection of the territory front. 15 officers and 108 new agents will wear the uniform of the Municipal Police, to which approximately one hundred additional hires will be added also thanks to the use of the extraordinary resources available under the security decree.

In the coming months, new competitions will be announced for the selection of new professional figures who will join the staff of the Municipal Administration.
