Participation. The first collaboration agreement for Borgo Chiaravalle

Councilor Romani: "I will work to promote new agreements between the Municipality, associations and citizens, with the Municipalities as protagonists"

Milan, November 13 2021 - A new collaboration agreement, the first for Borgo Chiaravalle, starts today after the signing of the agreement for the shared regeneration of the Giardino delle Rimembranze. The protagonist of the creative and recreational activities and care of the greenery, of co-planning, aggregation and cultural animation, will therefore be the area of via San Bernardo in Municipality 5, adjacent to the former 'Sciesa' School, the only public park in the neighbourhood.

"Chiaravalle is a treasure of great historical and agricultural value for Milan - highlights the councilor for civic services, with responsibility for policies on transparency and participation, Gaia Romani - and I am very happy with this new collaboration agreement, which is the first for the Borgo but also the first of my mandate. We are working so that the municipalities become the new protagonists of the next agreements, always maintaining the supervision of the Municipality but giving them, as well as their inhabitants, the tools to manage them with greater autonomy From the perspective of a more participatory city, it is essential that citizens can truly be at the center of change and valorisation of neighbourhoods”.

The Pact was signed by sixteen citizens, including seven boys and girls, the cultural association Terzo Paesaggio and the Borgo di Chiaravalle - ABC Association.
The initiative falls within the scope of 'Luoghicomuni', the action of the 'Lacittàintorno' program of Fondazione Cariplo, which promotes the experimentation of an intervention model for the regeneration, care and shared management of collective open spaces through the stipulation of collaboration agreements.

The first step, starting today, will be the creation of the 'flowering backdrop', with the planting of cornflower, poppy and wheat seeds at the entrance to the Garden for a new community flowerbed. Then will come the cultural and aggregation activities between adults and children of the Borgo, such as collective readings, art workshops, educational meetings linked to nature, shared snacks.
The Municipality, for its part, as in all the collaboration agreements already signed in other districts, will take on some commitments such as providing for the evening closing of the Garden, making space available for the installation of a notice board, a children's house books and a blackboard on the wall, place a rack for bicycles.
The President of Municipality 5, Natale Carapellese, was also present today at the official signing of the Pact.
