Participation. Active citizens direct the administration's choices, the results of the survey on collaboration agreements

This evening at 19pm the research will be presented at the closing meeting of the Review of Common Goods. Councilor Lipparini participates

Milan, July 28 2021 - "How much, in your opinion, can citizens influence the choices of the Administration in the government of the territory in which they live, participating in associative life or other participatory processes?" Very or very much, according to more than half of those interviewed in the survey on the opinions of the protagonists of the Collaboration Pacts.

This is the spirit that emerges from the survey presented this evening at the final meeting of the Review of Common Goods "The City that Collaborates", as part of the Lido Milano Live 2021 schedule of La Bella Estate, and which animates the activism of those who have signed a collaboration agreement with the Municipality to improve the quality of life in the neighbourhoods.

Presenting the research, entitled Survey on the opinions of the protagonists of the Collaboration Agreements, is the councilor for Participation Lorenzo Lipparini who in the last three years, since the Administration launched the Agreements, together with his colleagues in the Council has signed over 80 with active citizens and associations.
"A result of which we are proud - comments Lipparini - which finds further confirmation in the responses of this research, from which it emerges that the positive effects of this model of participation remain even after a long time in the trust and desire to act of the citizens involved" .

There are 86 - among those signed (50), in progress (18) and suspended (18) - the signed Agreements which have made it possible to develop projects and share responsibilities in the care and shared administration of the Common Goods in all the neighborhoods of Milan. The most frequent areas are urban care and regeneration, open squares, cleaning from vandalism and graffiti, shared gardens, social activities, valorisation of open data and spiritual assistance.

The survey, conducted in the first weeks of July on 112 people involved in various capacities in the signing of an agreement, aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the participatory policy implemented through collaboration agreements and to collect evaluations and suggestions to improve its approach, project development and concrete implementation. "The indications received will be useful ideas for perfecting a model that works - continues Lipparini -. This Administration closes its mandate leaving the city with a series of very concrete tools to encourage and improve the quality of participation in the active and political life of the city. Among these, in addition to the Agreements, the new Regulation for the implementation of participation rights, the Geoportal, its interactive maps, the Open data on the Municipality portal and the Milano Partecipa digital platform with the new functionality for the management of online petitions.
