Equal gender opportunities. Viva Vittoria blankets at the charity auction for projects against violence against women

Saturday 2 October from 8am to 19pm, proceeds to Telefono Donna and Svs Donna helps women ONLUS

Milan, September 29 2021 – On Saturday 2 October, from 8am to 19pm in Piazzetta Reale (to the right of Piazza Duomo), the many handmade blankets will be "spread out" and auctioned off, the proceeds of which will be entirely donated to Telefono donna and SVS Donna ai donna ONLUS .
The initiative was born from a project by Viva Vittoria Milano, sponsored by the Municipality of Milan, with the aim of supporting projects and associations that deal with combating violence against women.

After months of knitting by citizens who, even during the difficult months of the health emergency, contributed to the project by creating around 20.000 squares by knitting or crocheting, the blankets were assembled by volunteers in the Viva Vittoria Milano space in via Amatore Sciesa and get ready for the day of the charity sale. At 12, Stefania Bartoccetti, founder and coordinator of the voluntary association Telefono Donna, and Alessandra Kustermann, head of gynecology and scientific director of SVS Donna ai donna ONLUS, will speak. A special moment will then be reserved for the most valuable blankets made by the most expert hands which, at 16pm, will be auctioned off by Renato Diez, former director of the modern and contemporary art department at Christie's.

The Viva Vittoria association was born in Brescia in 2015 to raise public awareness on the issue of combating violence against women, through moments of participation and sharing. The first demonstration was held in Piazza Vittoria in Brescia, since then the baton has been passed to twenty Italian cities, reaching as far as Odenwald in Germany.
