It will be possible to play volleyball, basketball and five-a-side football and hold outdoor shows

Milan, September 28 2020 – The new playing fields of the former Trotter Park swimming pool will be open from 28 September. Yesterday, thanks to the beautiful sunny day, in the presence of numerous citizens, the spaces were handed over to the associations and the Casa del Sole school, a historic institution of the Trotter Park.

The play area extends for 1.800 square metres, returned to the boys and girls of the school and the neighborhood and to the city thanks to the functional recovery intervention proposed by the citizens in the first edition of the Participatory Budget of the Municipality of Milan.

Funded with approximately 420 euros, the project made it possible to redevelop the area and build two new multifunctional sports fields measuring 25 x 16 metres, where you can play volleyball, basketball, soccer and organize outdoor shows.

As part of the works, interventions were carried out to clean up overgrown vegetation, install ramps for access by people with disabilities, and remove the flooring from the pool edge and curbs. A new porphyry flooring was installed and the decorative concrete columns and pillars were restored. Finally, the plastering and tracing of a new sewer line were redone. Further information on the project and the works can be found on the Participatory Budget website.
