Milan, June 6 2022 – On the occasion of its 60th edition, the Salone del Mobile.Milano® chooses Palazzo Reale to showcase the profound bond with the city and with the companies and designers who have made it great in the world. In fact, from 7 to 17 June, in the magnificent Sala delle Cariatidi, eleven authors will tell, through a multi-sensorial and narrative experience full of emotion, the quality, innovation, creativity, but above all the beauty of the Milanese event.
The audiovisual installation designed by curator Davide Rampello especially for this room hosts the stories of 11 Italian directors: Francesca Archibugi, Pappi Corsicato, Davide Rampello, Wilma Labate, Bruno Bozzetto, Luca Lucini, Claudio Giovannesi, Gianni Canova, Donato Carrisi, Daniele Ciprì , Stefano Mordini. Their story through sounds and images is linked to the 11 founding principles of this event: Emotion, Business, Quality, Project, System, Communication, Culture, Youth, Ingenuity, Milan, Know-how. Each of the directors interpreted a word from the Manifesto of the Salone del Mobile.Milano according to their own personal style, transforming it into an auteur short.
The installation is characterized by a monumental "dark room" − a parallelepiped 6m high by 24m deep − which draws inspiration from the visionary and imaginative world of pre-cinema optical devices and which will host a real show in 3 acts . The concept and executive production is signed by Davide Rampello, with Rampello & partners Creative studio.
The visitor, upon entering the dark room, will have the impression of being in an elegant art gallery: the masterpieces in the room will be the metaphorical key to the story. When the walls darken, the "magic box" will transform into a cinema where the 11 arthouse films will be screened.
The experience will have a total duration of approximately 20 minutes and will welcome a limited number of spectators for each round.
