Royal Palace. Frammenti, a monographic exhibition dedicated to Tullio Pericoli, opens to the public

Milan, October 12 2021 — In the rooms of the Appartamento dei Principi at Palazzo Reale, from 13 October 2021 until 9 January 2022, you can visit "Frammenti", the monographic exhibition dedicated to the work of Tullio Pericoli, an artist from the Marche, Milanese since 1961.

Promoted and produced by the Municipality of Milan Cultura, Palazzo Reale, Skira editore and Design Terrae, the exhibition is curated by the art critic Michele Bonuomo, in collaboration with the artist, and set up by Pierluigi Cerri.

The exhibition is a tribute from the city of Milan to an artist who has decided to belong to it for sixty years and, at the same time, a tribute to his long career and his multifaceted activity. Tullio Pericoli's works have in fact been presented in exhibitions, published in newspapers, appeared in volumes, created for commissions. His work in the last twenty years has focused on landscape, but one cannot fail to remember his portraits of cultural figures, published all over the world, and his forays into the theatre, with the staging of works for the Opera House in Zurich and the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.

The over 150 works on display, created between 1977 and 2021, collect much of the artist's latest production, which is part of his always active reflection on the landscape. The last room of the itinerary is dedicated to portraits: faithful and at the same time transfigured physiognomies, a sort of assembly of the most important figures on the international cultural scene, friends, colleagues, inspirers.

The catalogue, with texts by Roberto Calasso, Giuseppe Montesano, Michele Bonuomo and Tullio Pericoli, is published by the Skira publishing house.
