Francesca Cantarelli was born in the province of Cremona in 1949 and studied graphics in a Milanese school. After completing her studies, she began working as a graphic designer in the Rinascente offices, then as an illustrator in a well-known city studio. Before her untimely death, she founded her own graphic studio which allowed her to come into contact with the students of the Arte & Messaggio school.

Laboratorio LBA is non-profit and pursues civic, solidarity and socially useful purposes. It aims to be a point of reference, a privileged meeting place for the sharing and exchange of cultures, experiences and research, in the fields of architecture, urban planning, art, design, photography and fashion. It promotes comprehensive and multidisciplinary educational and training programs.

Founded in 1976, with the name of Higher Institute of Visual Communication, the civic school Arte&messaggio - Castello Sforzesco has represented one of the most important public training centers in the country for more than 40 years. The school prepares students, young and old, in 'know-how', according to the expectations of the world of work; for this reason it offers annual and biennial courses of advanced training, short courses and continuous training courses to update skills based on market demands.
