Palazzo Marino. Milan joins the Day against the Death Penalty
Milan, November 30 2019 – The Municipality of Milan joins the eighteenth edition of the international day “Cities for life – cities for life/cities against the death penalty”. The Council decided this with a resolution with which it accepted the proposal received from the Comunità di Sant'Egidio non-profit association which promotes and organizes the Day which takes place on 30 November. In fact, on this day we remember the first abolition of capital punishment which took place in 1786 in the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.
Following its membership, Milan will be included in the honor list of cities committed to the abolition of the death penalty, published on the website www.citiesforlife.net.
