Palazzo Marino in music. Sunday in the Sala Alessi the "Sound Architectures" of the Leonardo Quartet

At 11am the concert offers a comparison between Haydn, Beethoven and Webern. Free tickets with reservation from 10am on Thursday www.palazzomarinoinmusica.it

Milan, August 30 2022 – The event resumes on Sunday 4 September Palazzo Marino in music, which in this 11th edition explores the relationship between music and mathematics.

Appointment at 11 in the Sala Alessi with the "Sound Architectures" of the Leonardo Quartet (Sara Pastine and Fausto Cigarini on violins, Salvatore Emanuel Borrelli on viola, Lorenzo Cosi on cello) which proposes a dialectical comparison between the pages of three composers: two giants of Western musical culture, such as Franz Joseph Haydn and Ludwig van Beethoven, and the most upright and authentic representative of the Second Vienna School, Anton Webern.

The concert is organized in collaboration with the Pasquale Battista Foundation and the artistic co-direction of Luca Carnicelli who, in presenting the program, highlights the key to its interpretation: "Haydn and Beethoven undertake a path that mirrors that of Webern. They start from a raw material which, through an absolute dominion of form, they shape to the point of leading to the explosion of all the architectural possibilities it contains. Two opposite and complementary ways of arguing musical reality. What in Webern remains crystallized in its primitive state, in pages of the two illustrious colleagues becomes a starting point for the construction of a parallel universe full of expectations; Haydn's principle of making the most of the minimum data becomes supreme art".

Entrance fees are free with reservation: starting from 10 am on the Thursday before each concert it is possible to book them electronically on the site www.palazzomarinoinmusica.it or collect the paper ones available at the ticket office of the Gallerie d'Italia - Piazza Scala in Piazza della Scala 6 or from the entrance in via Manzoni 10.
