There is a lot of musical content covered. 2020, for example, will be the opportunity to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's death: on 12 January by the Indaco Quartet, on 9 February with the Kanon Trio, on 29 May, with Harmoniemusik, a musical fresco on the Beethoven repertoire and contemporary authors for wind ensemble by the Civic Wind Orchestra of Milan and on 18 June with a concert aimed at rediscovering the German composer's literature for cello and piano. A focus is dedicated to the universe and musical genius declined by women, with events scheduled from the beginning of 2020: from the concert on January 27th dedicated to The Ladies of the Orchestra (to celebrate Remembrance Day) to that of February 8th with the emblematic title Il piano è donna, ending with a vocal, choral and instrumental Brahmsian fresco by the Liederiadi Festival (15 March).

The project stands out in the PLIM season, created in collaboration with the Sons of the Shoah Association of Milan. On the evening of October 15, the chamber ensemble formed by the musicians of the Civic Wind Orchestra of Milan will interpret pages by Gideon Klein, Charles Gounod and the Jewish poet and musician Ilse Weber, dedicated to the Theresienstadt ghetto and the tragedy that took place in Auschwitz on October 17, 1944.

To open a window towards contemporary literature, on the evening of 8 November 2019, the Civic Wind Orchestra of Milan will dedicate a musical-theatrical performance to the Milanese poet Alda Merini, on the tenth anniversary of her death. Concept, dramaturgy, interpretation and direction by Manuela Tadini.

In summary, this confirms the choral vocation, with a complex and multi-voiced score, of the PLIM project, a program characterized by a strong accent of plurality in which different genres and languages coexist, styles and practices only apparently distant from each other whose common objective , through the practice of good music, is an increasingly wider and desired usability by the Milanese public.

The fourth edition of the PLIM project still bears the mark of Alfons Mucha (1860–1939), the brilliant Moravian artist and champion of art nouveau: the chosen image – Third Great International Music Competition, Milan, 1 and 2 September 1906, lithograph – it belongs to the “Achille Bertarelli” Civic Collection of Prints of the Sforzesco Castle, among the most representative collections of the Ambrosian heritage. The graphics, created by the Communication Area of the Municipality of Milan, are renewed.

The detailed and constantly updated program of initiatives is available on place.
