Three events including music, theatre, dance and memories to pay homage to the 3.737 couples who have crossed the finish line of fifty years of marriage. Councilor Cocco: "Milan thanks these families, who they look up to with pride and admiration"
 
Milan, October 5 2019 – The event that the municipal administration dedicates to Milanese couples celebrating fifty years of marriage is back again this year. 

Tonight at 17.30pm and tomorrow, Sunday 6 October at 11am and 16pm, the Dal Verme theater will host the 3.737 couples who will be able to relive the events of 1969 in a special journey through time between moments of music, theater and dance. 

The councilor for Digital Transformation and Civic Services, Roberta Cocco, will participate in the event, commenting: "It is an event that I particularly care about, because I am really pleased to be able to celebrate the couples who have achieved this extraordinary milestone. Together we will retrace 1969 among important events and curiosities related to the world of culture and entertainment. Milan pays homage and thanks all the 3.737 couples who today decided to celebrate their fifty years together with us, because they are an example to look at with pride and admiration. The most sincere wishes from the entire municipal administration, we hope to make the guests smile and have fun with our tribute to their long-lasting love".
 
The ceremony will be conducted by Tomas Leardini and Valentina Mignogna who, accompanied on the piano by Giuseppe Blanco, will retrace the most important political, social and customs events in Italy in 1969 with the help of singing, theater and photographs that will scroll on a big screen behind them: from major international events, such as the Moon landing, Woodstock and the Beatles' concert on the roof of Apple's London headquarters, up to the Piazza Fontana massacre and the debut of the theater show "Mistero Buffo", the The symbolic work of a great figure of Milanese and Italian culture, Dario Fo, of which the public will be able to see some moments again staged by the actor Michele Bottini.
 
Also present this year is the former AC Milan and national team player Giovanni Lodetti, who will indulge in sporting memories linked to 1969.
 
Giving the public her unforgettable successes and her memories linked to Milan will be Iva Zanicchi, who in the Sanremo edition of that year won the podium with the song "Zingara" paired with Bobbi Solo. 
 
The comic moments will be guaranteed by the Tresjolie company formed by Marcello Mocchi, Daniele Pitari and Tomas Leardini, winners of the 2017 edition of Italia's Got Talent and all graduates of the Paolo Grassi Civica Scuola di Teatro, such as the choreographer and dancer Erica Meucci who, with dancers from the Collettivo LAAGAM company, Francesca Siracusa, Luciano Lanza, Liber Dorizzi took care of the choreography.

During the show, the councilor for Digital Transformation and Civic Services Roberta Cocco will bring the greetings of the municipal administration and will start the official ceremony for the renewal of wedding vows.
 
Each couple will receive as a gift the volume "The year was running... 1969" created to remember, with texts and images, the most significant events of that year and will subsequently receive at home the souvenir parchment of the event, signed by the Mayor Giuseppe Sala and by councilor Roberta Cocco.
 
The comments and testimonies of the Milanese couples will also be collected through short interviews carried out by graduates of Fondazione Milano - Civica Scuola di Cinema Luchino Visconti.
