Christmas in Milan. “Milano SuperChristmas 2019” lights up and animates the city for the most magical period of the year

Milan, November 25 2019 – “Milan SuperChristmas 2019” is the name of the program of initiatives that will characterize the Christmas period in Milan which will be dressed up with lights, trees, installations, markets and events, from the center to the peripheral neighborhoods to cheer up the Milanese and the many tourists. Christmas in Milan is all to be experienced, with a calendar of engaging events and evocative experiences, divided into four macro themes: traditional Christmas, fairytale Christmas, pop Christmas and romantic Christmas.

From today, Milan SuperChristmas 2019 will be promoted with a complex communication campaign that ranges from social channels to billboards and screens of different formats positioned throughout the city, which will broadcast a short video commercial made in Italian and Chinese.

“This year too, private companies and sector associations, with true Ambrosian spirit, are giving the Milanese and the many tourists innovative and high-quality lights, entertainment and installations to dress up our city – declares Tourism Councilor Roberta Guaineri –. For more than a month, Milan will be even more beautiful and attractive to passionately experience the magic of Christmas and celebrate the end of a year which recorded an extraordinary number of visitors from abroad, confirming the exceptional tourist vocation of our city" .

“In recent years – declares the councilor for Labor Policies, Productive Activities and Commerce Cristina Tajani – we have tested a solidarity practice, between private operators, Administration, trade and neighborhood associations, which allows us to bring the lights and the Christmas atmospheres throughout the city from the suburbs to the center. Thanks to this new attitude, which is more attentive to the entire city area, we have managed to illuminate an axis such as the entire Viale Monza from Loreto to Villa San Giovanni as well as areas external to the ring road such as the Casoretto, via Vallazze, via Pestalozzi, Piazza Belloveso to Niguarda, via Saponaro and via Carli, Piazza Selinunte, via Parea in Pontelambro, via Monte Piana and Promenade Rogoredo".

“During the next month of December, Milan offers all Milanese and visitors to the city a broad and diversified cultural program of great beauty and artistic quality - declares the Councilor for Culture Filippo Del Corno -. From the free exhibition to Palazzo Marino dedicated to Filippino Lippi, to the initiatives linked to the Prima della Scala spread throughout the city; from the large exhibitions opened in the exhibition venues of the Municipality of Milan to the New Year's concert, which this year too will offer an evening of celebration and fun open to the whole city".

CHRISTMAS TREES
In the heart of the city on 6 December the new tree will be inaugurated in Piazza Duomo sponsored by Esselunga: an innovative and sustainable tree, a symbol of clean energy, characterized by plays of light and surrounded by a green ring of fir trees which will be replanted. The spectacular installation, made up of a metal mesh structure and low energy consumption LEDs, is over 37 meters high with a diameter of 14 meters and is capable of holding one hundred people at the same time.
