All 18 creative projects of the "Christmas of the trees" will be illuminated by tomorrow

Milan, 6 December 2022 - Lots of music and enthusiasm accompanied the lighting of the Christmas tree in Piazza Duomo this afternoon. The Mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala, together with the Tourism Councilor Martina Riva and the entrepreneur Cristina, pressed the button that illuminated the 25-metre fir tree from Trentino, which will stand in the shadow of the Madonnina for the holidays. Fogazzi, founder of VeraLab, the company that sponsors the tree. 

The fir tree was decorated with 700 fuchsia and silver Christmas balls and made shiny by 40 thousand low-energy white LED lights. The equivalent of the amount of energy spent on the lighting will be donated to the Enzo Jannacci Reception House of the Municipality of Milan. 
The writing 'We Wish You to Be Yourself', which recalls the theme of self-acceptance, completely envelops the tree, at the foot of which there is a magical Christmas village: following a glittering path it is possible to meet Santa Claus, the his sleigh and bright animals. 

Music was the protagonist thanks to the live performances of a gospel choir, the performance of La Representative di Lista and the musical carpet hosted by DJ La Stryxia. The event was presented by radio host Annie Mazzola. 

Those who were unable to attend in person still had the opportunity to symbolically light the tree via a button made available by the sponsor on its website. 

With the lighting of the fir tree in Piazza Duomo, the "Christmas of the Trees" officially began: by tomorrow all 18 trees - fir trees and installations - will be lit up which, again this year, give shape and color to the concept, born from an idea by Marco Balich and donated by the Bracco Foundation to the Municipality.
