Over 2,5 million euros in two years is the co-financing of the Municipality for the co-planning of activities in the area

Milan, November 13 2019 – The public notice with which the CAG - Youth aggregation centers of the private social sector will be able to obtain accreditation with the Municipality of Milan and submit an application to co-plan activities in the area for the next two years is open until 2 December.

The value of the co-financing that the Administration will make available to the individual accredited CAGs - for a total value of over 2,5 million euros - will be determined based on the quality of the project, which will be evaluated by general organization of the service and activities proposals. The Administration requires that the design of the CAG includes interventions of scholastic support and free aggregation and that it is enriched by integrative activities such as moments of aggregation, active citizenship workshops, cultural trips, sporting activities, craft and technological workshops, artistic and expressive workshops and activities of listening and support for the kids.

“We want to continue working for ever greater involvement of younger people. The requests and ideas are many and varied – comments the deputy mayor with responsibility for Youth Policies Anna Scavuzzo – and the proposals of the CAG have proven to be of great educational and social value. For this reason we want to continue working with the CAGs and co-plan activities with them that allow us to seek out, welcome and accompany an ever-increasing number of young people in their growth, involving them and making them protagonists of the life of their neighborhoods and the city. We have been able to build significant experiences together and we guarantee the commitment of the Municipality in a co-planning with the CAG which further enriches the educational offer of the city and supports the commitment of families and school contexts".

With this new public notice the Administration wants to consolidate the activity of the CAGs (today there are 23 accredited ones and 5 municipal ones), to respond to the growing demand for educational and training experiences for young people, to promote the creation of a co-planning overall education, to strengthen the participation of the Municipalities, in particular in defining the needs of the neighborhoods, and to strengthen the system of relations of the CAGs among themselves, with the other entities active in the city and with the municipalities.

Together with the Third Sector entities that manage the youth aggregation centres, the Municipality will promote educational projects of a social, cultural and sporting nature with the aim of offering opportunities for socialization in suitable spaces, which are positive and proactive reference points, which promote the well-being and protagonism of boys and girls with a strong focus on active citizenship processes, territorial animation and social inclusion initiatives open to all neighborhoods.

The public notice includes two phases, one of accreditation and one of co-planning, aimed at entities that meet the requirements for the first. At the end of the procedure, the accredited CAGs will be identified who will be the Administration's partners for co-planning for the years 2020-2021.
