Milan, 1 March 2023 – It was presented today at Palazzo Marino the proximity initiative "ABC... SPID. Create and learn to use your digital identity" promoted by the social promotion association Migliorattivamente and by Uniting group and sponsored by the Municipality of Milan, in collaboration with the nine municipalities.

The objective is to physically go to the municipalities to offer free and easy activation of the SPID for those who still do not have it and who need support to carry out the procedure. In addition to this, support is provided in terms of training to understand the advantages and to learn which public administration services can be accessed.

The project includes a stop in each municipality of the city within municipal spaces, such as municipal offices, registry offices, CAM and senior centers. The SPID can be requested by all adult citizens, Italian or with a residence permit, resident in Italy or abroad. The initiative, in line with the objectives of the PNRR which aim to extend the digital identity to the entire population in Italy (to date there are 34,2 million citizens who possess it) above all pursues the desire of the Administration to don't leave anyone behind on the digitalization journey.

To date, in fact, many of the services provided by the Municipality of Milan are accessible via digital identity: over 1 million citizens are registered for online services and the Citizen's File, of which only 24.000 access with CIE and the remainder with SPID . Of these, 500.000 are "city users" and every month more than 20.000 new users register who benefit from immediate notifications for various services. And thanks to this initiative, another piece is added to the digital transformation path that this Administration wants to carry forward together with the simplification process, with widespread services tailored to the individual needs of each person.

"I would like to thank all the subjects who have fully worked for the realization of this important project – declares the councilor for civic services Gaia Romani –. As a Municipality we had already stipulated an agreement with the Chamber of Commerce for the dissemination of services digital, with this initiative we are now adding an important piece to support citizens, by going to them, in the municipalities. If on the one hand we are implementing efficiency and simplification processes, on the other we are working to promote moments of orientation and support dedicated to those most vulnerable people who struggle to access and use digital tools. The desire and hope is that similar initiatives, in light of a progressive aging of the Italian population and a constant digitalisation of services, become increasingly more structural" .

"Bringing the SPID to the municipalities, bringing us closer to where the towns and citizens live – says Layla Pavone, coordinator of the Board for technological innovation and digital transformation of the Municipality of Milan – was an objective that we had set as a priority and with whose realization we are very satisfied. Innovation and digital are useful where they are accessible to all and inclusive, and thanks to this initiative we will work alongside and support those who have not yet done the SPID, also explaining the importance of this fundamental tool, a key to access to essential services provided by the Administration which, thanks to this project in the municipalities, wants to be even closer and connected to the people. Furthermore, without forgetting the impact that these initiatives have in achieving the so-called City of 15 minutes".

"Digital is often perceived by the community as a virtual world reserved for the elite and not as the dimension useful for managing real world activities more simply – continues Giuseppe Giorgio Pacelli, President of Migliorattivamente –. ABC... SPID will not only facilitate the rise to board, of everyone, but will allow everyone to acquire the useful skills to consciously self-determine. A truly inclusive proximity service, created thanks to the profitable synergy between public, private and third sector organisations".

"When creativity and skills are made available to generate concrete help for citizens, value projects are generated and, for this reason, we could not help but contribute to the creation of an initiative like ABC... SPID – states Nicola Corricelli, Chief culture & New business officer of the Uniting group – we talk more and more about objectives, ESG themes, the 2030 agenda. Together with all the players involved, the objective is not to stop at promises, but to really act from this perspective by creating inclusive projects with social value. differential. The ongoing digital transformation cannot and must not exclude anyone!".
