"Teams accustomed to asking a lot of themselves have the duty, in some moments, to recognize when their choices have proven to be right and perhaps anticipatory: having bet three years ago on the Green Carpet Fashion Awards is one of these choices". So councilor Cristina Tajani, who continues: "If the girls and boys of the Greta generation are reflected in a global fashion supply chain that can be said to be fully sustainable and respectful of workers, it will also be because many, from Milan, have turned on in time the spotlight on the shadows, instead rewarding the lights and thus indicating a possible path. Our city is proud to have given support to those who, protagonists of the fashion system, have acted with foresight and intend to do so with ever greater conviction".

During the conference, the presentation of the prestigious Legacy Award to an undisputed master of Italian style in the world, Valentino Garavani, was also announced. "Thanks to his iconic work that has lasted for over five decades and for his support of Italian talent, design and fashion, Valentino is a creative visionary worthy of the Legacy Award of the Green Carpet Fashion Awards". So commented Carlo Capasa, President of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion and Livia Firth, creative director and co-founder of Eco-Age.

“Made in Italy is a value, it is the third best-known brand in the world. And fashion represents an essential part of this brand. Sustainability is now the distinctive factor for the success of fashion brands with the new generations. Fashion means: creativity, innovation, craftsmanship and, from today, also sustainability. Italy is the third exporting country in the world in the fashion sector and for this reason ICE Agenzia supports this project which also aims to be, in synergy with our activity, a help in spreading awareness of the modern potential of our country on international markets" , stated Carlo Maria Ferro, President of ICE Agency.

The evening at the Teatro alla Scala will be hosted by Adut Akech and Jon Kortajarena while Hamish Bowles, international editor at large of Vogue US, has been confirmed as Creative Director of the Green Carpet Fashion Awards 2019.

According to Bowles: “Leonardo Da Vinci's thoughtful style and inspired vision have been continually celebrated for over half a millennium. In 2019 the world celebrated Da Vinci's impact on art, fashion and history and it is fitting that this is reflected in Green Carpet Fashion Awards as a celebration of Italian culture and talent".
