Milano, 5 settembre 2019 - Milano Moda Donna Spring/Summer 2020 (17-23 settembre 2019) torna in città dal 17 al 23 settembre con 58 sfilate, 110 presentazioni, 4 presentazioni su appuntamento e 51 eventi in calendario, per un totale di 170 collezioni. A illustrare, questa mattina a Palazzo Marino, il calendario delle sfilate e degli eventi correlati l’assessora alle Politiche per il Lavoro, Commercio, Moda e Design Cristina Tajani con il Presidente di Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, Carlo Capasa.

With CNMI we share not only the commitment to supporting and enhancing young emerging talents, but above all the desire to encourage the birth of a new way of understanding fashion and its entire production chain. Supply chain which, today more than ever, must be sustainable and ethical, respecting the environment and workers' conditions. A commitment that we carry forward also thanks to the Green Carpet Award which, now in its third edition, indicates the primacy of the Milanese week on an international level on these issues".

“Sustainability and internationalization are two founding values ​​of this edition of Milano Moda Donna – declares the President of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, Carlo Capasa –. All the players in the system have made a concrete commitment to proposing a wide variety of events and initiatives, involving the public and making the city the protagonist. The fashion week calendar with over 50 events in six days confirms Milan as a lively and highly attractive fashion capital on an international level. In this sense, collaboration with the Municipality of Milan and the institutions in the name of shared values, first and foremost sustainability, is fundamental".

The fashion week will be inaugurated on September 17th with a day dedicated to events and with the inauguration of the Milano Moda Donna Fashion Hub during which the presentation, supported by CNMI Fashion Trust, of Gilberto Calzolari winner of the Franca Sozzani GCC will also take place Award for Best Emerging Designer; the fashion shows begin on Wednesday 18 September with 58 events on the calendar, the morning will be opened by the press conference presenting the third edition of the Green Carpet Fashion Awards Italia, 2019.

Among the important novelties of this edition, Peter Pilotto, Boss, Simona Marziali-MRZ, winner of Who's on Next 2018, DROMe and Shuting Qiu will be parading for the first time in Milan. Thanks to the support of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and CNMI Fashion Trust Act n.1, Tiziano Guardini, Marco Rambaldi will show. The CNMI Fashion Trust, supported by an advisory board, will select every year, among those who have requested it, up to a maximum of 5 emerging designers who will be supported with financial support and mentoring in their growth path.

After the great success of the first two editions, the third edition of the Green Carpet Fashion Awards Italia will take place on Sunday 22 September at the Teatro alla Scala. The event, organized by the National Chamber of Italian Fashion in collaboration with Eco-Age and with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development (MISE), ICE Agency and the Municipality of Milan, will celebrate the values ​​of sustainable fashion and the commitment of the system fashion. Among the prizes that will be awarded during the event is the Eco Stewardship Award to the Venetian gondoliers. Thanks to the collaboration with The Woolmark Company in 2018 the gondoliers wore Australian Merino wool, a versatile 100% natural and renewable fabric.

By virtue of the memorandum of understanding between the Municipality of Milan and CNMI, the Sala Cariatidi of Palazzo Reale will once again be one of the protagonist locations of Milano Moda Donna together with the Spazio Cavallerizze, an integral part of the National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Win.
Fashion week can be followed live on milanomodadonna.it with streaming of the fashion shows, videos and photo galleries of the collections, through the CNMI App and on the social profiles Instagram (@cameramoda), Facebook, Twitter with real-time updates on events. GIFs dedicated to Fashion Week will be available on the Instagram Stories channel. Videos of the fashion shows and special contents will also be broadcast on the giant screen in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, corner of Piazza San Babila.
