Fashion. With 56 fashion shows, 34 events and a renewed collaboration between the Municipality and CNMI, Milan is preparing for women's fashion week 2020

Milan, February 4 2020 – Presented to Palazzo Marino the next edition of Milano Moda Donna, a rich program that will see 18 fashion shows, 24 presentations, 56 presentations by appointment and 96 events including art, fashion and culture on the catwalk from 2 to 34 February. The calendar of fashion shows and the numerous related events were launched by representatives of the municipal administration with the President of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, Carlo Capasa.

The renewed collaboration between the Municipality of Milan and the National Chamber of Italian Fashion was also illustrated, thanks to the memorandum of understanding signed in recent days for the creation of cultural initiatives and shared actions to support the entire fashion sector for the two-year period 2020-2021 . Agreement which, in addition to confirming the use of the Sala delle Cariatidi of Palazzo Reale for the presentation of the collections of young debuting designers and for institutional events, also provides for the opening of various places of art and culture in Milan to fashion. This will allow us to promote and enhance the city's great heritage thanks to open events which, combining fashion, art, culture and creativity, will make the Milanese weeks unique events on the global scene and will consolidate Milan's role as a "place-to-be" for everyone the system operators.

Also for this edition of Fashion Week, Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan and Yes Milano has created an important communication campaign which from 10 February will be conveyed throughout the city through posters and screens. The protagonist of the campaign, shot by Stefano Guindani, is the model Lea T.

To sanction the opening of spaces of city culture and art to fashion, "Memos - regarding fashion in this millennium", the exhibition curated by Maria Luisa Frisa and created in collaboration with the Poldi Pezzoli Museum, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, ICE Agency and the Municipality of Milan and with the participation of Tendercapital. The project, in the form of an exhibition and catalogue, aims to be a tool for questioning fashion, its qualities and its attributes and refers to Italo Calvino's American Lessons, which the author should have held in the autumn of 1985 at Harvard University. Maria Luisa Frisa reflects on the practice of fashion curating and conceives the exhibition involving Judith Clark for the exhibition making and Stefano Tonchi with a visual project. The exhibition will be inaugurated on Thursday 20 February at the Poldi Pezzoli Museum and will be open to the public from 21 February to 4 May.

Fashion Week will open on Tuesday 18 February, with the inauguration of the Fashion Hub hosted, for the first time, at La Permanente. During the evening, the “China, we are with you” campaign created by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana will be presented with the aim of building a bridge between Italy and the Asian giant, bringing the Milan Fashion Week to China, through live streaming and special contents, to give a signal of closeness and positivity in this moment of great difficulty.

Fashion Week can be followed live on cameramoda.it with streaming of the fashion shows, videos and photo galleries of the collections, through the CNMI app and on the social profiles Instagram (@cameramoda), Facebook, Twitter with real-time updates on events. Videos of the fashion shows and special contents will also be broadcast on the giant screen in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, at the corner of Piazza San Babila.
