Mobility. The Marino, Agnello and Ragazzi del '99 streets have been redeveloped and made pedestrianised

Milan, February 20 2020 – With the conclusion of the redevelopment works of Via Marino, Agnello and Ragazzi del '99, the pedestrianization of the area between Piazza della Scala and Piazza Duomo has been defined and completed, which also includes the surrounding Via Santa Radegonda, San Raffaele and Berchet , already the subject of renovation works in recent years.

In detail, the intervention made it possible to seal the joints in the flooring, standardize the surface which had lost continuity over the years and eliminate the pavements, thanks to the installation of blocks and slabs of white Montorfano and Cuasso al Monte granite. The streets are now all level, with the exception of a step in Via Ragazzi del '99, on the portico side, which remains due to the excessive difference in level.

The uniformity of the level of the roadway made it possible to establish and complete the pedestrian area, eliminating the traffic lights.

In these days, part of the paving in Piazza San Fedele will also be redeveloped, which has suffered from excessive stress caused by the adjacent construction sites.

The intervention, carried out after the approval of the Superintendence, has restored decorum and beauty to an area of the historic heart of the city.

From the point of view of mobility, in accordance with the opinion of Municipality 1, it remains possible for residents to access the properties, for rescue, emergency and police vehicles as well as for maintenance and cleaning vehicles, taxis for access to hotels and loading and unloading of goods between 2:00 and 8:00 in the designated areas.

The redevelopment is completed by the installation of bicycle racks and parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities.
