Mobility. The call for contributions for the purchase of low environmental impact vehicles has been published

Up to 1.800 euros for an electric scooter and 1.500 for an e-bike without obligation to scrap. Up to 9.600 euros for an electric car and 6.000 for a hybrid with the scrapping of old diesel or petrol

Milan, July 6 2020 – The notice to access contributions for private individuals who want to replace or purchase new vehicles with low environmental impact has been published on the Municipality of Milan website. The objective is to help citizens renew the fleet of cars and motorbikes circulating in the city and therefore limit polluting emissions and congestion. The total contribution made available is equal to one million euros. The incentives can be combined with the benefits granted by the State.

"We give concrete help to citizens who have to resort to the use of private vehicles for travel, supporting the choice of less polluting and lighter means - declares Marco Granelli, Councilor for Mobility -. But we also help our city to have a quality of "better air. Incentives are one of the ways we are taking to facilitate the replacement of the fleet of vehicles circulating in Milan. Replacing an old diesel, buying a scooter or an electric bike will be easier and less expensive".

The incentives are intended for citizens residing in Milan, of age and, for the first time, without ISEE limitations in order to allow everyone to access them. Among the other innovations included in the new tender, the possibility for private individuals to obtain a contribution of up to 1.800 euros for the purchase of an electric scooter and 1.500 euros for a pedal-assisted or electric-traction bicycle or cargo bike, without the obligation to scrap it. The contribution for the scooter increases to 3 thousand euros in the event of scrapping or for those who have not owned a vehicle for at least four months. As regards four wheels, the contributions reach 9.600 euros for the purchase of an electric car, 6.000 euros for an electric hybrid, 5.000 euros for a car powered by methane or LPG and methane hybrid or LPG hybrid, 4 thousand euro contribution for the purchase of a Euro 6 petrol car.

The contributions are available starting today, Monday 6 July, and until the available funds are exhausted but no later than 30 November 2020: it is possible to submit an application for vehicles purchased starting from 4 May. All incentives will be paid only once for a single vehicle in the case of private applicants and only once for up to five vehicles of your choice for each company.

To access contributions for the purchase of hybrid, electric, bi-fuel and Euro 6 petrol vehicles, private individuals must at the same time arrange for the cancellation for demolition of a vehicle for the transport of people specifically powered by petrol up to and including Euro 2 or diesel up to 5 euros included. Contributions reach up to 6.000 euros for the purchase of a hybrid car.

The notice for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, self-employed workers with a VAT number residing in Milan, third sector bodies and non-Milanese artisan businesses as long as they hold a license to carry out the activity of sale in public areas issued by the Municipality of Milan.

Companies will be able to access concessions to purchase up to five commercial vehicles or vehicles for the transport of people, from vans to trucks and from cars to coaches, Euro VI diesel only for trucks and coaches (N2, N3 and M3) , Euro 6 petrol, LPG, methane, hybrid and electric. For example, in the case of replacing a van the contribution is between 5.500 and 18.000 euros depending on the category and in the case of a truck the contribution reaches up to 21.000 euros. Contributions are also provided for the purchase of hybrid or electric powered scooters and cargobikes. The concessions for companies are granted to subjects who at the same time will demolish a vehicle of categories N1, N2, N3, M1, M2 and M3 powered by petrol up to and including Euro 2/II or diesel up to and including Euro 5/V , or a two-stroke motor vehicle or moped (classified as category L) up to Euro 2 or powered by diesel fuel up to Euro 2 or powered by four-stroke petrol Euro 0, 1). For businesses, the incentives will be paid only once for up to five vehicles of your choice for each business.
