Mobility. Work to restore the road surface in via Pier Lombardo will start on Monday
Milan, May 27 2023 – Work to restore the road surface in via Pier Lombardo will start on Monday 29 May (unless adverse weather conditions occur), after the fire that occurred on 11 May following the explosion of a van carrying oxygen cylinders.
Before planning the intervention it was necessary to carry out specific core sampling to analyze any residues left by the fire. The results of the investigations to verify the presence of polluting materials (which would have required particular disposal procedures) gave negative results. Therefore the Roads Department of the Municipality of Milan will be able to proceed with the usual methods of managing the asphalt which will be removed as early as next Monday.
We will work first on the sidewalks, followed by the resurfacing of the roadway. It is estimated that the works could last, in good weather, around 15 days.
